About the Event
Jennifer Collins, Author
Jennifer Collins's debut novel emerged from the author's own devastating experiences. While dealing with her grief, she found comfort from signs in nature that reminded her of her lost loved ones and unexpected solace from communicating with psychics." A desire to make her experiences openly spoken of became a compelling force for her writing, bringing a seldom-heard voice to fiction. Perhaps others with loss will find comfort in making similar connections. Narrated in the first-person, the main character invites the reader into her life. Larissa Whitcomb flounders in the wake of unimaginable losses. Forget about coping; she can barely function. Her former commitment to work evaporates as she isolates herself from all but her closest friends. Aware, however, of the dangers of this bleak existence, she reluctantly agrees to travel for a unique business opportunity. It becomes Larissa's journey of grieving yet moving forward. She will be challenged by unique encounters with strangers, confronted by emerging secrets and emotions, then startled to find joy in the most unexpected places. Can her battered heart open to new possibilities of joy and gratitude?
